Mission Accomplished

After finishing the race and receiving a metal, they wrap you in what looks like aluminum foil. It helps to keep you warm. I was exiting the stadium to meet Peggy. YEA!! Third Marathon Complete

Approaching the end of the race

I am the one on the left in the white singlet approaching Peggy. She was about a minute from the finish on this downhill portion before entering the stadium.

Arriving at the twon of Marathon, Greece

I took a private car to the start of the race from the ship. The fellow behind me is a Pastor from Australia who was on the ship and thought it would be a good idea to try it. Don't know if he made it. I ran the race, Peggy took the private car on a scenic ride back to Athens!!

Last morning on board ship

As the "warrior" prepares for the battle in the stateroom before the marathon.

"You talking to me??"

Alexandria, Egypt

Water front in Alexandria from King Farouk's palace.

Cairo, Egypt

Sphinx with no nose due to Napoleon's army shooting it off for target practice. Because we are from Scottsdale, we offered to have reconstructive surgery done.

Cairo, Egypt

After two "hard" rides on camels thru the Sahara, we took a rest on one of the foundation stones of the pyramids. Then, we ran to the top!!

Cairo, Egypt

You can pick these pyramids up by the top. A giant among men!!

Cairo, Egypt

Don't I look like Roy Rodgers getting ready to ride off into the Sahara desert??

Cairo, Egypt

Some people are just so graceful when they dismount.

Cairo, Egypt

Giddy up Cowgirl!! I think she really enjoyed riding a camel.

Cairo, Egypt

Check these pyramids out...

Here I am hard at work studying the USA news after a hard day of work being a tourist.

Jerusalem

The weather was wet most of our visit to Israel. They loved it cause they needed rain. We didn't quite expect this type of weather but probably helped keep crowds down. Peggy outside the walls of Jerusalem freezing her ??? off.

Jerusalem

The Church of the Holy Sepulchure where Jesus was crucified. The church was built over the site for protection and is guarded by various religions. A VERY moving experience.

Jerusalem

One of the stations of the cross on the Via Dolorosa. A very moving experience. The crowds were not bad but can only imagine at Christmas or Easter how crowded it can get.

Jerusalem

The Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Prayers are put on a piece of paper and stuffed into the cracks of the wall. To this day, the tradition of seperating men and woman when they approach the wall for prayers exists.

Jerusalem

Garden of Gethsemene in Jerusalem. The olive trees date back to the time of Christ and the betrayal of Judas.

Nazareth

Stained glass from the Church which encases Mary's house.

Nazareth

This is inside the Roman Catholic church where Mary lived. Although hard to see, it's in the background.

Jordan River baptism

The site where people go to get baptized in the Jordan River. Although not the spot where John baptized Jesus (which is inaccessable), this is the spot pilgrims come near the Sea of Galilee.

Nazareth & Galilee

Outside the "synagogue of Jesus" near the Church of the Beatitudes

Limasol, Cyprus

"Sunday, Funday" Cyprus style with our new friends from across the pond (England). Jeremy and Vivian having a good time enjoying an afternoon spot of "tea" at an outdoor cafe.

Cyprus

Peggy and her "guns" on a gun in Limasol, Cyprus at one of the castles.

Antalya, Turkey

The happy honeymoon couple in Antalya, Turkey. More shopping, more t-shirts, more jewelry. We shopped singing "Happy Together" by the Turtles (old song for older, mature people).

Aspendos theatre in Turkey

The great tenor Paul with his tour guide and tourista singing opera in the theatre to 15,000 screaming fans.

Antalya, Turkey

Aspendos theatre in Turkey. Built by the Romans and also used as a fortress.

Rhodes, Greece

God of fish swimming with his friends. They say "he sleeps with the fishes".

Rhodes, Greece

Peggilina, goddess of shopping headed to her private yacht inthe background after looting the shops of Rodos. Notice the satisfied smile on her face.

Rhodes, Greece

This is the 13th Greek God on the beach running to Chariots of Fire. The picture doesn't truly show the speed of the God.
