I took a private car to the start of the race from the ship. The fellow behind me is a Pastor from Australia who was on the ship and thought it would be a good idea to try it. Don't know if he made it. I ran the race, Peggy took the private car on a scenic ride back to Athens!! Last morning on board ship

Chios, Greece
"Saturday Funday" in Chios Greece with our sailing companions - Cliff, Dave, Jane and Teresa. Last night on the cruise ship :-( and then it's off to the Athens marathon.

After two "hard" rides on camels thru the Sahara, we took a rest on one of the foundation stones of the pyramids. Then, we ran to the top!!
Jerusalem
The weather was wet most of our visit to Israel. They loved it cause they needed rain. We didn't quite expect this type of weather but probably helped keep crowds down. Peggy outside the walls of Jerusalem freezing her ??? off. Jerusalem
The Church of the Holy Sepulchure where Jesus was crucified. The church was built over the site for protection and is guarded by various religions. A VERY moving experience. Jerusalem
One of the stations of the cross on the Via Dolorosa. A very moving experience. The crowds were not bad but can only imagine at Christmas or Easter how crowded it can get. Jerusalem
The Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Prayers are put on a piece of paper and stuffed into the cracks of the wall. To this day, the tradition of seperating men and woman when they approach the wall for prayers exists. Jerusalem
Garden of Gethsemene in Jerusalem. The olive trees date back to the time of Christ and the betrayal of Judas. 
Nazareth
This is inside the Roman Catholic church where Mary lived. Although hard to see, it's in the background. Jordan River baptism
The site where people go to get baptized in the Jordan River. Although not the spot where John baptized Jesus (which is inaccessable), this is the spot pilgrims come near the Sea of Galilee.
Limasol, Cyprus

Santorini Internet Cafe

high on the hill, we tasted local wine of Santorini. Below is the ocean where our ship was anchored. Froze our tucas off as the weather was "alittle" cloudy. Only rains 20 days a year. We happen to be there on one of them. Santorini
She's smiling cause she got jewelry. I'm all wet from some rain and the fact that my wallet was thinner. Windmill in the background is common on the islands. Also, alot of solar thermal used to heat their water. Santorini
Although not a beautiful, sunny day our visit to the island was great. Beautiful colors of the houses in white with dark blue roofs or domes. She did get me to buy her jewelry here. Wallet is alittle lighter. Santorini
